Art Club
Creativity is contagious.
It’s helpful to have fellow travelers around you. They don’t have to be like you, just like-minded in some way, even if their art form is different from yours. Creativity is contagious, and spending time with other artistic people allows you to absorb and exchange new ways of thinking.
Put together your version of a creative group. It doesn’t have to be formal or large. Just one or two others can be enough. Think of it as a book club—people coming together to exchange thoughts and ideas.
Start by identifying people in your life who are creative or enthusiastic about art. They don’t need to work in the same genre or medium as you. They just need to share your curiosity for the creative process.
Reach out and propose starting a creative group. Explain that it’s like a book club but for sharing creative work—whether that’s visual art, music, writing, or any other form of self-expression.
Example invitation:
“I’m putting together a small group of creatives to meet regularly and share ideas, works-in-progress, and inspiration. Think of it as a book club for whatever we’re making. Would you be interested in joining?”
When you have a couple of members, set a date for the first meeting. A first meeting plan might be:
Share recent work (15 minutes each)
Talk about a creative challenge
Set intentions for what to explore next
Together, decide how often you want to meet—bi-weekly, monthly, or whatever works. Meet in person if you can. Or create a virtual space that feels supportive.
Art grows stronger in a community. Your creative family doesn’t need to make what you make. They just need to care about making. Sharing your work and witnessing others share theirs can unlock new ways of seeing and creating.

I’m starting an art club- Fridays at Veritas yoga studio in Malibu at 1 pm. Calling all artists. Let’s create stronger together.

If you can see the Big Dipper at night you can draw an imaginary line between the 2 stars on the cups outer edge and extend it out and it will always intersect with Polaris- The North Star
